Who this notice is from
This notice covers themanageddesk.com.au and the service management platform and managed service desk operated under the name The Managed Desk. The business is The Managed Desk, located in 477 Collins Street, Melbourne.
What this website collects
Very little, by design. This website is a set of static pages: there is no account system, no advertising pixel, no third-party analytics tracker and no session recording.
- Your colour-theme preference is stored in your own browser (one entry,
tmd-theme) so the site does not flash white when you return. It never leaves your device. - Server logs record standard web request information — IP address, page requested, time — for security and troubleshooting. These are retained for a limited period and are not used to profile anyone.
- The enquiry form does not send anything to us or to a third party. It composes an email in your own mail client, so nothing is transmitted until you choose to send it.
If you contact us
When you email or call us, we receive your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it to answer you, to prepare a quote or proposal, and to keep a record of the enquiry. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a marketing list you did not ask for.
Personal information in the service
When your organisation uses the platform, we hold the information needed to run a service desk for it — staff names and work contact details, tickets, assets, licences and knowledge articles. Your organisation controls that information and decides what goes in; we process it on your instructions to provide the service, and we are bound by the confidentiality and security terms of our agreement with you.
Where your information is held
The platform is hosted in Australia. Encryption is applied in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the people and systems that need it to operate the service, protected by multi-factor authentication.
AI and your information
Where AI features are enabled, the model is called server-side to triage a request, suggest a category or draft a reply using your organisation's own records and knowledge base. Your tickets and documents are not used to train public or shared AI models. AI suggestions are logged with their source, and a person can always review, override or reject them.
Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only to service providers who help us run the platform (for example cloud infrastructure, email delivery and, where enabled, AI processing), to your organisation's own administrators, or where Australian law requires it. Where we use a provider that handles personal information, it is bound by contract to use it only for our service.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. If you are a user of an organisation on the platform, we will usually refer your request to that organisation, because it controls the records; we will help them answer it.
How to reach us
Privacy questions and requests: hello@themanageddesk.com.au. We aim to respond within five business days.
Complaints
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles and will always try to fix a concern directly first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes that affect how we handle your information will be raised with the affected organisations directly.
